# Setting and Tracking Financial Goals

Nova makes it easy to set meaningful financial goals and track your progress over time. Whether you're saving for a house, building an emergency fund, or working toward a net worth milestone, goals keep you motivated.

Creating a Goal

Go to Goals from the main navigation
Tap + New Goal
Choose a goal type: Savings Target, Debt Payoff, Net Worth Milestone, or Custom
Enter a name, target amount, and target date
Optionally, link specific accounts to track progress automatically
Tap Save

Milestones

Break big goals into smaller milestones to stay on track:

Open an existing goal
Tap Add Milestone
Set an intermediate target amount and date
Nova will notify you when you hit each milestone 🎉

Milestones give you a sense of progress and help you course-correct early if you're falling behind.

Tracking Progress

Your Goals dashboard shows each goal with a visual progress bar, percentage complete, and estimated completion date. Nova recalculates your pace based on real account data, so your projections stay accurate.

On track — You're meeting or exceeding your pace
Needs attention — You've slowed down; Charlie may suggest adjustments
At risk — You're significantly behind; consider updating your target or timeline
