Payment Methods
Manage your payment information to keep your Nova subscription active and uninterrupted.
Accepted Payment Methods
Nova accepts the following payment methods:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
- Discover
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Nova never stores your full card number on our servers.
Adding or Updating Your Payment Method
- Go to Settings → Subscription → Payment Method
- Tap Update Payment Method
- Enter your new card details
- Tap Save
Your new card will be used for all future charges. The update takes effect immediately.
Failed Payments
If a payment fails, here's what happens:
- Immediate notification — You'll receive an email letting you know the charge didn't go through
- Retry attempts — We'll automatically retry the payment up to 3 times over the next 7 days
- Grace period — Your account stays fully active during the retry window
- Account paused — If all retries fail, your account is paused until payment is resolved
Common Reasons for Failed Payments
- Expired card — Update your card details in Settings
- Insufficient funds — Ensure your card has available balance
- Bank decline — Contact your bank to authorize charges from Nova
- Incorrect card info — Double-check your card number, expiration, and CVV
Resolving a Failed Payment
- Go to Settings → Subscription → Payment Method
- Update your card information if needed
- Tap Retry Payment to process the charge immediately
If your account was paused, it will be fully restored as soon as payment goes through — no data is lost.
Security
All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI Level 1 certified payment processor. Your card data is encrypted end-to-end and never touches Nova's servers directly.
